Program: Internship in IPPiP 2021 – 2022

Description of the Program:
All the beginning psychotherapists pass a stage where the first sessions with the clients as well as the start of the practice in general turn out to be an entire new world full of discoveries. On the one hand, they already have some experience in working with clients as well as consulting and interaction skills. On the other, they might have a feeling that something is still not clear for them. And at this point they understand they need support and clarification.
 
How to conduct the first session? Shall a therapist ask questions or follow the client? How shall he/she answer the client's questions and to what extent? When and how to negotiate the rules of work? Interns of the program will receive answers to these and many other questions related to the specifics of the first session.
The Internship program includes four interrelated processes
- client sessions provided by the Institute;
- individual supervisions;
- supervisory groups;
 - theory and viewing of recorded video sessions.
Condition for participating in the internship: personal psychotherapy.
 
Information for participants of the Internship program that are on distance learning:
distance learning interns advise clients online and are supervised only in the online format. Counseling offices and clients belonging to the face-to-face learning format are not accessible

Программа предназначена для: 
The program is designed for:
  • persons with higher psychological or medical education trained in psychological counseling;
  • graduates and senior students of the 3-year retraining or specialization program at the IPPiP.

Advantages of the program:

The main feature of the program is its practical part: conducting first sessions and receiving supervision of further work with clients. Participants of the program will be able to master practical skills of conducting interviews and receive supervision in proper time. Training at theoretical seminars will provide a better understanding of the complex aspects of modern psychoanalytic personality diagnostics and the organization of the setting, as well as introduce various approaches to the first interview.

The uniqueness of the program is formed by the joint work of trainees and experienced, practicing psychotherapists, case discussions that provide various psychoanalytic and psychotherapeutic views on one subject. Under the supervision of the leading teachers of our Institute, interns will gain invaluable experience in better understanding their clients and help in organizing their independent practice.

Certification of the education: Upon completion of the internship, a Certificate of advanced training is issued.

— 70 academic hours of supervision classes in large and small groups
— 2 hours of individual supervisions, individual sessions by agreement with clients
Total: 72 academic hours
Classes are held weekly on Fridays 16:00-17:45
